Panificio Bakery and General Store
Panificio offers a focus for village life each morning where Amalia is pleased to welcome you from 7.30 am for fresh bread baked daily, milk, and general grocery items (including toilet paper!). Also C10 bus tickets and newspapers.
Open daily in season: 07.00 – 13.00 and 16.00 – 19.00
Winter (Nov-Easter): Closed Sunday and Monday afternoon
Ristorante La Comacina
Located next to the bank at the entrance to Sala, 'La Comacina' is managed by Gianni and Cristina, and remains a long established family business.
La Comacina offers an a la carte menu of local cuisine with al fresco dining on a large balcony trimmed with red geraniums under a shady awning in summer, and open all year round.

Ristorante La Tirlindana
In Piazza Matteotti Ristorante La Tirlindana is a family business operated by Chef Particia and her family.
Patricia offers lake cuisine with French flair al fresco under a marquee in summer - Trompe-l'oeil images evoking summer scenes decorate the interior for a sense of the surreal for winter dining.

Locanda La Comacina
Delight in this restaurants's famous history where a 45-year old table-d-Hôte menu still prevails. Access from Piazza Matteotti by water-taxi or via lake ferry. Five-course set menu inclusive of wine and water currently €67 pp. Cash only accepted. Run by Benvenuto Puricelli and family.
Even without time for dinner, Isola Comacina's bar "La Botte" (The Barrel) is a most pleasant spot for a drink, especially at sunset. Why not try a bottle of their sparkling rosé wine!

Lido di Sala Comacina (gia Pro-Loco - literally 'for the locals')
You can't get more local than this - seated outdoors under the plane trees on white-marble gravel to delight in wood-fire pizza with carafe wineor an ice-cold draught (spina) beer, or, more simply to enjoy a late aperitivo as the sun sets like golden taels upon the surrounding mountains in a vision of glorious prosperity ... Oh! To relax with the locals in this subliminal setting!
Pro-loco is managed as a concession from the local council and offers friendly relaxed atmosphere. Order at the bar.

Bar Romano (sign posted as Caffe Milani)
Massimo (Max) and May (from Hong Kong) manage the local bar, with a lineage that stretches back three generations.
Bar Romano offers coffee, wine and spirits by the glass, ice cream, bottled beer, and bottled water. Bottled wines from an extensive cellar are also available for take-away priced from just a few euros. Stock up here to sip by the beach just down the lane, or to enjoy at Casa Matra Ponto.
This delightfully situated establishment offers both accommodation of 15 rooms, and alfresco dining with lake cuisine in season and breakfast daily in line with the hotel’s operation.
